How Job Italia made commercial scouting in North-Eastern Italy more timely, more targeted, and more continuous
"Local knowledge remains the strength of our branches. Vocations has broadened it: more companies visible, greater timeliness, and better quality in the first conversation"

Those who cover the local area read the market before anyone else
In an increasingly dynamic job market, identifying new business needs quickly is a decisive competitive advantage. Job Italia is an employment agency operating in temporary staffing, recruitment and selection, employment intermediation, outplacement support, and training, through a network of branches across several regions.
In North-Eastern Italy, this local presence is built on relationships developed over time: branch managers who know the companies in their area, salespeople who understand how the local business fabric moves, and colleagues dedicated to active labour market policies. No technology can replace this wealth of knowledge. It can, however, broaden its field of vision, and that is the direction chosen together with Vocations starting in June 2026.
The challenge is identifying the need before it becomes a request
The limitation of commercial scouting was not the team's expertise, but time and scope:
- • identifying companies that are hiring and are not yet in the branch's portfolio;
- • spotting new open positions while the commercial window is still useful;
- • covering a large area without multiplying the hours devoted to manual research;
- • avoiding two colleagues working on the same company without knowing it.
Every signal read too late is an opportunity that closes elsewhere.
From spot checks to continuous monitoring
With Vocations, Job Italia replaced episodic research with constant market coverage:
- • client portfolio VAT numbers uploaded in bulk, with a notification for every new position published by an active client;
- • saved filters by area and sector that flag only what is new compared with what has already been covered;
- • the distinction between positions open in the area and companies whose registered office is in the area, so each opportunity can be assigned to the right sales process;
- • mapping local businesses even when they have no active postings, as a basis for proactive activity.
The pilot started with ten licenses for salespeople from six branches and the dedicated team, with measurement in two phases: first tool adoption, then the impact on temporary staffing and recruitment and selection activities.
From information to a sales opportunity
Data becomes an advantage only when it turns into concrete action. Knowing that a company in your area has just opened a search changes the nature of the conversation: the salesperson is not offering a generic service, but addressing an active need at the moment it exists.
This is the direction of sales activity in North-Eastern branches: more timely, more structured, and more focused on the real needs of the market.
Impact
- Business opportunities identified: 16% more
- Average time spent on scouting: from 8 hours and 28 minutes to 2 hours and 28 minutes
- Six branches on a single map updated with the area's labour-market demand
